Third of November
It has been almost a year since the last post because it has been a busy year. I’ve made pizza on three occasions since then but I didn’t get around to blogging the experience. It takes time and effort and lately I just felt too tired after making pizza to post a writeup with photos. Today is different and a good reason to get back into it.
In December of 2019, we went down to see the family of Sweet T for the holidays.

Third of January
It is the third Sunday of January. Snow is starting to fall outside and the weather is expected to get nasty with some freezing rain on the way. A great day to stay inside and make some pizza.
A couple of months ago our toaster oven broke. I was toasting up some English Muffins when a small supernova exploded inside. I have no clue what happened but the heating element got really bright at one spot, warped the rod, and then burned out never to heat up again.

First of December
It is the first Sunday of December. It is a great day for making pizza before the holiday rush is upon us. It has been some time since we last had some Detroit-style pizza so I thought that would be good for today’s agenda. I had to be somewhere at 4pm so I told Niles and Ken that we should start promptly at noon.
This dough recipe uses the fast acting yeast with a thirty minute rest before baking.

First of November
It is the first Sunday of November. This autumn has gotten busy and we were having a difficult time finding a weekend we could all get together. Today was the first time in over two months that we were able to do it. The goal today was to keep it simple and try to keep mistakes at a minimum. Niles brought over Little T and Ken brought over Little D so I planned on making enough dough for six pizzas.

Third of August
It is the third Sunday of August. I had no plans for this Sunday. Niles was free. Ken was free. That means it is time to bake some pizza. Everyone showed up at around noon and Little T and Little D joined us as well.
Yesterday afternoon I made the standard batch of 1000 g and placed the covered dough ball in the beer fridge overnight. My sister made pizza last week and texted me with a question about the dough recipe.

Fourth of July
It is the fourth Sunday of July. That two week break from making pizzas ended up being two months instead. Time can really fly during the summer where a lot is going on. I asked Niles if he was free this weekend. He was, so that means it is pizza time. Ken mentioned that he was also planning to make some pizza this weekend. I told him he should just come on over for Sunday pizza day instead.

Third of May
It is the third Sunday of May. Jacob was supposed to come over today for some pizza and pinball but there was some kind of miscommunication. I said we should meet up around noon. He thought we were meeting up around dinner time. So we ended up not getting together today. We will try to do it again sometime in June.
I made enough dough for three pizzas today but only ended up making one.

Second of May
It is the second Sunday of May. I’ve been doing a bit of experimenting lately so I thought today would be a good time to get back to the basics. At the grocery store this morning, I picked up a block of the low moisture skim milk mozzarella, some monterey jack, and some white cheddar. I have enough pizza sauce at the house and figured I would let Niles choose what sauce to use today.
